THE CIRCLE

This figure made of closed curved line equally distant Municipalities in embracing the ideals and aspirations of the province. The figure denotes oneness as it is formed by an unbroken line. Likewise, the circle also depicts equality in the sense that it is equally having the same distance from the center.

THE ROPE

The circle enclosing the seal is composed of a rope. The twisted intertwined fibers stand for the people of Compostela Valley Province. Every strand of the rope depicts a particular citizen of the province. Further, every strand denotes significance of each citizen’s participation in achieving the province’s vision and mission. As old adage connotes: the strand is strongest at its weakest point;

THE DOVE

Reflection of the Province in imploring the aid of the Divine Providence. The Dove further denotes the presence of peace and order in Compostela Valley. The figure is illustrated at the top of the seal’s core as a symbol of eminence.

THE LAUREL

The subject connotes “Honor” of being resident in a peaceful, orderly, well-developed, progressive, and God-fearing province- the province of Compostela Valley.

THE GEARS

The illustration is a depiction of development and stability in the province’s economic system particularly in trade and industry;

These two gears that linked together represent the two legislative district of Compostela Valley working hand in hand for the attainment of a sustainable economic development;

THE GOLD BARS

Signifies abundance of this mineral resource in the Province.

THE MINER'S PROTECTIVE CAP

A symbol of protection and support  from the provincial government signifies the Province’s commitment and approval for the mining activity of the small scale miners. “A symbol of hate for a large-scale mining operation.”

THE SATELLITE

Represents the advent of modern technology, innovatin of facilities as a symbol of the province’s modernization.

FACTORY AND AGRI-BASED PROCESSING PLANT

The factory symbolizes success in the province’s mission of becoming a highly industrialized province. The agri-based processing plant denotes agri-based industrialization.

THE SUN

The sun symbolizes the provincial government of Compostela Valley. The sun is being illustrated at the center of the seal to indicate that it is the focal point, “the core of the seal.”

THE ELEVEN STARS

The stars depict the eleven municipalities that comprise Compostela Valley namely: Compostela, Laak, Mabini , Maco, Maragusan, Mawab, Monkayo, Montevista, Nabunturan, New Bataan and Pantukan (in alphabetical order). These municipalities are elucidated in a circular manner embracing the provincial government of Compostela Valley (the sun). A depiction of unity, cooperation, and commitment to embody the province’s ideals and aspirations.

Symbolize hope.

THE TWO MOUNTAINS

A symbol of the two legislative district’s protection and preservation of our natural resources.

THE TWO WATERFALLS

A symbol of the two legislative district’s protection and preservation of our natural resources.

THE RICE FIELD

Depicts one of the major agricultural products of the province, and a manifestation of the province’s commitment in preservation of this crop.

THE COCONUT TREES

The coconut trees reflect abundance of these agricultural crops in the two legislative districts of Compostela Valley.

THE TROPICAL FRUIT BANANA

A showcase of another major agricultural product of the province and symbol of the province’s potential for this fruit’s expansion and prolifcration.

THE PEOPLE

“A symbol of cooperativism and vigilance.” Cooperativism, since they are illustrated as a group of persons standing abreast with each other. Vigilance as they are overseeing and protecting the ecosystem or the maintenance of a balance ecosystem.

THE THREE GROUPS OF WATER WAVES

Representation of the three coastal towns of Compostela Valley namely: Mabini, Maco and Pantukan.

THE TWO FISHES

An indication of abundance in aquatic resources.

They are positioned in an opposite direction as a symbol of their existence in all these coastal town’s waters.

THE LINE AT THE CENTER

Signifying agricultural development and ecological balance at the lower portion and industrialization at the other side.

THE YEAR (1998)

The year when Compostela Valley Province was created.

THE TWO STARS OF THE YEAR

Symbolizes the two legislative districts.

THE COLORS

The official seal embodies five colors which describe as follows.

  1. Black – the most vivid color in white background.
  2. Yellow – sensational, glaring, shining.
  3. Blue – denotes faithfulness and the state of being genuine.
  4. Green – characterized by strength and youthful Vigor.
  5. White – symbol of peace.
