Comval Young Farmers awarded at recent “Regional 4H Youth Camp” as Overall Champion

Compostela Valley Province – The Comval Young Farmers were announced by major regional Agricultural Training Institute Regional Office (ATI) XI Regional Over-All Champion during the recent “Regional 4H Youth Camp”.

With the theme “BIDA 4H: Bringing Innovations and Development in Agriculture through 4H Club”, a gathering of 4H Federation Officers and selected 4H Members from various provinces and cities within Davao region took place at the GSP Alano, Regional Training Center, Daliao, Toril District of Davao City last April 4-6, 2019.

The three-day gathering of young farmers from different areas in Region 11 were presented with a contest on the different Agricultural skills, where some participants from the Municipality of Monkayo won in different competitions: Camille Jane Campilan winning 1st place for the Cooking Contest Cacao Based , Rodel Artiaga also winning 1st place for the Video Making Contest, and Corrine Imba also placing 1st for the “Himig Handog Singing Contest”.

Other participants representing Comval Province who have won different competitions were Irene Jane Ladera from Maco, winning 1st place for Terrarium Glass Gardening, Judiel Cabilan from Compostela winning 2nd for the On the Spot Canvass Painting Contest, Rocelle Caguyong from Mawab winning consolation prizes for the On The Spot Spoken Poetry and Lovely Manguray from Mabini also winning a consolation prize for the 4H Quiz Bee.

The prize and certificates of participation were awarded by officials from the DA-ATI XI; Region 11 4H Coordinator Hannah Ruth Liong and their companions Lucille Bocado, Assel Madanguit, Lourdez Encarnacion, and Guila Rose Rubis.

On April 15,2019, Provincial Administrator Virgilia S. Allones relayed her exciting announcement of the triumph along with 4H Provincial Coordinator Nelma Aranton and PAGRO Chief Dr. Minda Agarano  during the Awarding Reenactment awards in front of nearly 500 provincial employees attending the Employees Regular Convocation Program.

One of the key development programs that provincial governor Gov. Jayvee Tyron Uy is improving in are the capabilities of youth in Compostela Valley with the technology of farming, by continuously giving them free trainings with the help of ATI-XI, a constant partner in the province of this program.
