Comval Gov 2nd SOPA seen world-wide

Compostela Valley Province— Comvalenyo people are watching in real time of the 2nd State of the Province Address (SOPA) of Honorable Governor Jayvee Tyron L. Uy held last September 18, 2018 at the Monkayo Dome, Monkayo, Compostela Valley Province.

This was the first ever SOPA of the province broadcasted in real time through live streaming on social media and simultaneously aired on the different local radio stations. Particularly, the 11 towns of Comval through the local government units have set up a viewing area in gyms and covered courts to allow a wider  audience while viewing the SOPA of the governor on a screen projector.

The main venue at the Monkayo dome for the SOPA was attended by the provincial officials and local officials of the 11 municipalities, capitol officials and employees, heads of the national agencies, different stake holders and private partners, family and friends of Governor Uy.

During the program, Governor Uy expressed his gratitude to all the people who supported behind the success of the SOPA. He also thanked the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Monkayo for the warm welcome and for the continued support of the programs.

He added that “usa sa akong nag-unang prayoridad ang pagpanalipod sa atong kinaiyahan. Sulod sa duha nako nga tuig isip gobernador, nagbuhat ako’g mga lakang aron maprotektahan ang atong kinaiyahan parte usab sa akong nahimong prayoridad ang pagduso sa konsepto sa green growth ug prayoridad usab sa akong administrasyon ang ekonomiya sa probinsiya ug naghimo sad kita ug mga lakang sa agriculture, tourism, infrastructure and technology aron mahimong  business-friendly ang atong probinsiya.” 

“I intend to connect and reach out more people, to bring more peace, deliver more progress and change more lives. So that by the time that we rename our province’s name to Davao de Oro by next year, we will be stronger than before,” he said.

Also present during the SOPA were the barangay officials and functionaries of the LGU Monkayo as the host municipality.

The other barangay functionaries and officials of the municipalities of Montevista, New Bataan, Maragusan, and Compostela of the first district as well as the municipalities of the second district namely: Nabunturan, Mawab, Maco, Mabini, Pantukan, and Laak were gathered together in their respective municipality to watch the SOPA live on the big screen.

On the other hand, Cristy Sabas Dela Cruz – one of the viewers commented on Facebook live streaming that they are very much happy of the new innovation of the province, even if they are working outside the country or outside the province they can see the updates and the progress of the province through the live broadcast.

“It was great, excellent and a world class SOPA of the Governor, seen world-wide, Congratulations and thank you very much,” she said.

Meanwhile after the SOPA, a  blessing and turn-over ceremony of the Unity Building was held. The two-story building was funded thru the initiative of Congresswoman Maria Carmen Zamora of the first district of the province.

The said building will be used to house the key departments of the local government unit of Monkayo under Mayor Ramil Gentugaya as well as the new office of the municipal mayor.

“It is in this very place that the old municipal building used to stand. The same building had witnessed how I started as a young leader. It is in this very place that the past generations of leaders like my grandfather, my father have planned in making Monkayo of what it is today,” said Zamora.

She added that the present and young generations of leaders are the forefront of the new era of Monkayo’s progress.(Rey Antibo, ID Comval)
