Comval information officers strengthened through training 

To capacitate the information officers and strengthen the information dissemination in the province, the provincial government of Compostela Valley through the Information Division in partnership with the Philippine Information Agency XI and municipal government of Maco conducted a  two-day workshop on Newsletter and Magazine Lay-outing on August 23 at RAJ Hotel, Tagum City and on August 24 at MILRC Building, Maco.

Ms. Frances Mae G. Macapagat, Officer-in-Charge Regional Director of PIA XI emphasized that despite the increasing popularity of social media, there are still a number of people who prefer to read printed materials.

“Kining workshop on Newsletter and Magazine Lay-outing na-identify ni nga isa sa mga pinaka importante nga mahibal-an na skill sa kada information officer,”  she said.

A total of 41 information officers from the local government units and national agencies based in the province participated in the workshop, sponsored by the local government unit of Maco.

In her message, Maco Mayor Alvera Veronica Rimando said, “Kita nga nahatagag higayon i-value gyud ni nato. Walay lain gyung makabawi ani na knowledge. Dala-dala ni ninyo ug mahimo na ninyong capital bisag moabot mo bisan asa or bisan unsa na estado.”  (Sheldane Mahinay // ID Comval)
