Maragusan tops 1st Comval Search for Best Greening Program Implementers
Nabunturan, Compostela Valley – Dubbed as the Summer Capital of Davao Region, Maragusan tops Compostela Valley’s first ever Provincial Search for Best Greening Program Implementers.
Maco got the 2nd place and Laak, third place.
“The Search for Best Greening Program Implementers assesses the response and accomplishments of our partner LGUs in the implementation of the greening program that was launched in 2011 by the then Gov. Arturo Uy,” said Marilyn Perlas, Supervising Environmental Management Specialist of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office.
The competitions are in line with the Provincial Ordinance No. 15-2012 declaring every 22nd of July as Nature’s Day of the Province of Comval with the theme “Comval @20 Growing Green for Good Governance”.
On the other hand, Compostela tops the poster making contest wherein they were asked to paint a visualization of their proposed or enhanced man-made pocket forest in their respective municipalities.
The second place goes to Maragusan, followed by Montevista.
The winners were announced on July 24, 2018 during the Employees’ Weekly Convocation at the Capitol Lobby, Nabunturan, Comval. (Sheldane Mahinay // ID COMVAL)
