Comval Gov. Uy highlights “Prosperity” or infra projects

Compostela Valley Province—“The pursuit towards sustainable economy is not just the task of the government because it’s a call of every sector of this province to engage, contribute and take ownership of our programs.” This was part of the message of Governor Jayvee Tyron L. Uy during his 1st State of the Province Address (SOPA) at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan session hall, Provincial Capitol in Cabidianan, Nabunturan, Comval on October 18, 2017.

Governor Uy emphasizes that the growth of the province lies on its partners and the public that supports its policies.

“We bank on the trust of our people and it’s only due that we translate it to projects and programs that are beneficial. The improved mobility of our people, goods and services is a result of the continued projects of the Provincial Government through the Provincial Engineer’s Office,” Governor Uy added.

He reported that from 182 roads, government buildings, and other infrastructure projects amounting to P713.92 Million the province have implemented in July 2016 and completed 115 infra projects amounting to P246.55M.

He added that these include 91 Government buildings and other infra projects in the amount of P73.55M and road concreting of 24 road sections with total length of 19.454 km amounting to P173M.

Furthermore, Gov. Uy explained that there are still 12 on-going road concreting projects with approximately 29.39 kilometers costing P375M.

On the other hand, Gov. Uy also said that aside from the regular provincial road maintenance which is the 79 road sections with 749.78 km amounting to P48.7 M, the province was also able to rehabilitate 8.7 km of road, while another 11 km is on-going and is set to be finished by the end of this year.

“Economic activities are considered the heart of the province, thus, farm to market roads are vital to our overall economic cycle. It’s worthy to note that the rehabilitation of roads has significantly decreased the travel time of our people,” Gov. Uy said. (Rey Antibo, IDS Comval)
