PESO Comval holds Galing Mason training orientation
Compostela Valley Province—The provincial government of Compostela Valley under Governor Jayvee Tyron L. Uy through the Public Employment Services Office holds orientation for “Galing Mason Training” in partnership with Holcim Philippines on October 6, 2017 at the Capitol Lobby, Cabadianan, Nabunturan.
According to Miles A. Atugan- Senior Labor and Employment Officer, the training is for the benefit of the Reformed Voluntary Surrenders (RVS) for Oplan Liwanag program and for the rebel returnees throughout the province.
He added that the provincial government target is 80 participants who will undergo training for 2 batches, with 40 participants each.
Atugan explained that the HOLCIM Phils. Company will be the one to provide all the construction materials needed for the duration of the training. He also assured the trainees that the DMCI construction firm will hire the participants who passed the standard evaluation who meet the requirements of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TEASDA) with the corresponding issuance of the National Certificate-II (NC-II).
Meanwhile, Nicki Virina-Stakeholder Relation Officer, Holcim, said that the participants will undergo 20-day training for safety precaution inside the working area, and proper use of mason tools as well.
Renida May M. Escalias-CSR and Admin Services Department Manager said that this is also another support that they give for Comval.
“We want to have ‘change’ for ourselves, for our family and for our daily needs. We look forward that we can provide changes to all of you, especially in terms of your livelihood so that you can have job to support you and your family,” Escalias added.
Meanwhile, Hernan Dalisay-Cluster Sales Manager, Holcim Davao, said that it is an advantage if the participants already have an experience on masonry. “We hope that after the training, the participants will be equipped and already know about Mason works,” said Dalisay.
On the other hand, Mark Joy Salmeron representative from TESDA said that their office has always been the partner of the provincial government on skills training conducted. “After the 20-day training, there will be a national evaluation to be conducted individually, part of which is the actual work, mag-masa gyud sila ug semento,” he said.
Meanwhile, Placido R. Alcomendras Jr. Assistant Provincial Administrator for Internal Affairs, who represented Gov. Uy, expressed his gratitude for responding to the call of the province saying as an added treat, the province though the PESO will give an award for the Best Top-3 Mason during the training.
