Monkayo, Compostela Valley — President Rodrigo R. Duterte extended his congratulations in the holding of the “Bayanihan para sa Sambayanan” outreach program spearheaded by the Association of Regional Executives of National Agencies in Region XI (ARENA XI) in partnership with the local government on October 3-4, 2017 at the Brgy. Upper Ulip gym, Monkayo.
“This kind of initiative is very close to my heart… and I am hoping that they continue not only to see but truly feel the cause of the Filipino masses,” the President said.
The President’s message was delivered by Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) Undersecretary Janet M. Lopoz during the 2nd day of the program saying Pres. Duterte is inspired with the responsiveness of the government agencies particularly led by the ARENA XI.
“Unsay pulos sa paglambo sa serbisyo sa pangobyerno kung dili ni mabati ninyo mga katawhan nga naa sa barangay,” Usec Lopoz ended on behalf of the President.
The flagship program of ARENA XI, which started in 2011, brings its various government services to Monkayo, particularly serving far-flung communities in Barangays Upper Ulip and Mt. Diwata.
Among the free services offered by government agencies are medical and dental services, legal services, issuance of government permits and registrations, IECs on various programs, demos, consultations and dialogues, as well as distribution of fingerlings, seedlings, school supplies and food packs.
“Nagpasalamat ko ani nga opportunity kay libre ni siya. Kung wala ni siya nga programa, syempre magbayad pa ko magpaibot, mamiliti pa ko, so magastuhan pa ko ug daku,” said 18 year- old Baby Jean Ombao of Upper Ulip.
Senior citizen Casiana Alahas also availed of the free medical services as she was further given referral to undergo an ultra-sound at CVPH-Montevista. She also received free vitamins and medicines to help alleviate the discomfort in her stomach area.
At 72 years old, Casiana hopes to still be able to take care of her great grand daughter. “Gusto pa nako makatabang sa akong mga anak ug apo. Mao mianhi gyud ko karon aron maalibyuhan akong gibati,” she said.
Another beneficiary, Charlie Almea, 42 year-old homemaker of Purok 2, Mt. Diwata, said she was relieved after being clarified of some concerns and issues in her hometown. On the 2nd day, a dialogue and consultation was held among the residents of both barangays and the various government agencies, particularly with the Philippine Mining and Development Corporation (PMDC) and the Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
Meanwhile, Gov. Jayvee Tyron Uy expressed his gratitude with the holding of the “serbisyo caravan” espousing on the bayanihan as part of his multi-sectoral approach in good governance.
“Our bayanihan system is strong… kining pagdala sa ARENA is a conclusive statement nga ang bayanihan anaa diri kanato aron mabisita ug mahatag ang serbisyo sa publiko,” Uy said.
He also thanked the people saying “walay laing gobyerno nga nag-amuma kanato but under our Pres. Rodrigo Duterete. Gisaligan nga taga-Davao, taga-Mindanao nga adunay maayong plano para sa atong katawhan ug para sa kinaiyahan.”
