Comval culminates 7th Adopt-a-child program

Compostela Valley Province– The 7th batch of the Adopt-a-Child program ended successfully after a 120- day of supplemental feeding on September 26, 2017 at Binuangan, Maco Municipal Gym.

This is one of the bayanihan programs started by Senior Board Member Arturo Uy and adopted by Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy to directly address the problem of malnutrition among school children.

The program for this year has identified 54 undernourished pupils. Out of 54 identified children, 82.3% has achieved the ideal weight based on the standard of body mass index.

During the program, the children were given additional commodities like coloring books, grocery items and vitamins during the culmination.

In line with this, various offices of the provincial government sponsored identified malnourished children in public elementary schools in Maco. Key persons were assigned per office to visit and ensure the success of the program through regular monitoring of the children and their families.
