Comval Gov Uy Convenes 1st ICT Council Meeting

Provincial Capitol, Compostela Valley—   Gov. Tyron Uy presided the first Compostela Valley Information and Communications Technology Council (CVICTC) meeting on August 29, 2017 at the SP Session Hall, Provincial capitol.

The council is jointly organized by the provincial government through the PGO-Information and Communications Technology Development Division (ITCDD) in coordination with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

“We intend to go down to the locality, hopefully to align our plans to the mandate of DICT for the promotion of socio-economic development through ICT,” said Gov. Uy, the CVICTC chairperson.

The council was created through Executive Order No. 043-2017 with ICT Comval Association President Romelito Asio as vice-chairperson and the PGO-ITCDD under Joyzel Odi acting as the council secretariat.

Relevant inputs were also given for information to the council members. DICT Director Alimbazar Asum gave his input on the DICT programs and Mark Van Buladaco, ICT Program Coordinator of Davao del Norte College (DNSC) shared the school’s Community Extension Programs and the continuing professional development for Comval LGU capability enhancement. While Atty. Samuel Matunog, President of ICT Davao also discussed on ICT Industry Development.

The council members include SP Members Vivencia Secuya and Randy Opisan, PLGU’s Planning and Development Office, Information Division, LMP President and Pantukan Mayor Roberto Yugo, national government agencies including DICT Comval, DTI, DILG, DOST, DOLE, DepEd, TESDA and from the non-government sector such as the Assumption College of Nabunturan and Nabunturan Business Club.
