Comval to celebrate 12th Bulawan festival and 21st Founding Anniversary
Davao De Oro Province— The provincial government of Davao De Oro will celebrate its “12th Bulawan Festival and 21st Founding Anniversary” on March 3 – 8, 2019 with the theme: “The Gold One. Ang Bulawan sa Tanan.”
Ms. Sholai Lim, Bulawan Festival Action Officer said that various activities have been lined up for this year’s Bulawan Festival celebration which will start on March 3 (Sunday) and to culminate on March 8 (Friday).
The festival, according to Lim, will serve as the province’s thanksgiving to its stakeholders and partners as well as the people. “This is the way of thanking everyone and showcasing the beauty of Comval and soon to be renamed as the province of Davao de Oro.”
A Prosperity Run will kick off the celebration with all the provincial officials lead by Governor Jayvee Tyron L. Uy and other invited distinguished guests.
One of the highlights of the festival celebration is the Blog/Vlogging Contest, Retrato Photo Contest and the Feature writing contest.
The festival will also feature the search for the Bulawan Queen, and the launching of campaign for “Yes to Davao de Oro” the renaming of the province.
Minda Agarano- OIC Provincial Agriculturist said that the “Mindanao Trade Exhibit” features the Bonsai, Succulents, Orchids and Bougainvillea shows and Comval Rich Biodiversity. It also features the tribal village, De Oro Tsibugan, Sugbahan sa Bulawan and the Jewelry Trade Fair.
Agarano added, that the De Oro Tsibungan and Sugbahanan sa Bulawan features Comval’s delicacy and other delicious food available in the province.
The displays of the jewelries will also be made available at the Jewellery Fair at the capitol building from pure gold to silver as well as the commercial produce.
Visitors can also expect a lot of popular artists were invited and other high ranking officials and VIPs to come to the province for the said event.
On March 8, Foundation day, the highlights are the ‘Bulawanong ani ug Parada sa Bulawan’, the 21st Foundation Program, the Kasumaran sa Kababayen-an, and at night the ‘Prosperity Concert’ featuring Bamboo which will serve as an appreciation event for the stakeholders of the provincial government and it will end with a grand fireworks display.
