Comval iPortal app places 2nd in Digital Cities PH Awards
Davao De Oro Province– The Davao De Oro Information Portal Application or simply “Comval iPortal” won 2nd place in the 2018 Digital Cities Philippines Awards under the Government to Citizens (G2C) Best in eGOV Customer Empowerment Category on October 12, 2018.
The awarding ceremony was held at the Philippine International Convention Center in Manila. Representing Gov. Jayvee Tyron Uy, Information Technology and Communications Development Division (ITCDD) head Joyzel Odi and Information Officer Fe Maestre, received the award.
“The Davao De Oro iPortal App was launched during the Business Security Summit on August 11, 2018 with 530 stakeholders from the business sectors, public officials and other government agencies, the application was well-received and applauded by different sectors considering the benefits it offers,” said Odi.
The Comval i-Portal app makes government services accessible via smartphones. It is a hassle free info-checker of different info channels operated by the province. It is a one stop info shop app that allows users to hover, send and secure information.
The Davao De Oro iPortal team utilized different media channels such as the Aksyon Davao De Oro Neteleradyo that reaches to more than 10,000 listeners across the province. Meanwhile, updates on the application is posted through our Tyron Uy and Davao De Oro Facebook Pages which record to a total of 48,000 followers.
Furthermore, this application is integrated to the whole peace framework of the Province, Gov. Jayvee Tyron L. Uy, presently the Regional Peace and Order Chief promotes this application as it addresses transparency and emergency response aside from tourism promotion and e-Services.
Aside from the i-Portal app of Comval, 64 other entries were submitted by 35 other local government units across the country.
The Digital Cities Philippines Awards, formerly known as eGov Awards, is an annual event that aims to recognize LGUs that have integrated the best practices thru using Information and Communications Technoclogy (ICT) in delivering public service to the people.
The program is jointly undertaken by The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP). (Sheldane Mahinay // ID Comval)
